As reported in The Detroit News proposed legislation would set new rules for insurers selling individual insurance policies making coverage more available and affordable.

With the home-grown auto industry under increasing pressure from foreign manufacturers, the number of displaced auto workers continues to rise. No longer covered by their employers' group insurance, more and more are seeking individual health insurance.
